About Bella Baita

Bella Baita Bed and Breakfast is more than a place to lay your head for the night before moving on to the next place on your holiday. We are a small family run inn located at 3,600ft(1,100m) off the beaten path of well known tourist areas, offering tranquility, pure mountain air, the chance to relax and let us do the cooking if you choose, while you stretch your legs, shake off your stress, explore the neighborhood walking up to the peak or down to the river or just a gentle wander around, possibly sighting, wildflowers, butterflies, birds of prey, red deer or chamois during your stay.

We are committed to making our environmental footprint as light as possible and encourage our guests to do so as well. We shop locally at our markets patronizing local growers, dairy farmers, beer and wine producers,  and butchers. We also shop in our local natural food store and only shop in the big grocery stores as a last resort. We cook almost everything from scratch at home, including our bread, we just think home cooked food  tastes the best and you know what you have put into it.  We use energy efficient light bulbs, and encourage guests to turn off lights when not in use. We have recycle bins that we separate glass, metal, plastic and paper. We heat completely with wood that we harvest and manage from our property that has sustained our family for over 100 years. We have a family garden that we use bio-dynamic gardening methods, which is Papa Dante’s pride and joy and we recycle our culinary refuse mainly with our composting worms and some select food bits for Mama Egle’s chickens. We have a natural spring on the property and our water that is piped into our pipes is collected from the mountain in a storage system that Fabrizio’s father organized and built with the other residents and maintains  it even today. We use a on demand hot water heater most of the time and when we are completely full we use a large hot water heater. We hope to expand some energy saving projects in times as resources allow.

We organize custom Cooking Together sessions with us, as we are chefs who love guests.

These sessions can single or multi day sessions, based on your interests.

We will add on local or area wine pairings to your cooking sessions if you like,
