Cooking classes are taught in English

Join us for our “Cooking Together” sessions and you will savor food bursting with flavor and marvel at just how divine simple food can be. We’ll send you home with new skills and recipes for what you cooked  here. Our “Cooking Together’ sessions are seasonal and customized to your tastes and interest. We start the sessions late in the afternoon so that you are free to enjoy the many charms our area has to offer.

Our most popular “Market to Table” sessions take place on Pinerolo market days, Wednesdays and Saturday and includes a guided tour of the market and some of the highlights of Pinerolo’s historic center in the morning, free time  for you and then we cook together later in the afternoon for our evening meal.

We design our cooking session around your interests and skill level, and showcase local, seasonal Piemontese cuisine and drink. We feature our sometimes less well-known regional specialties with creativity, striking a balance between traditional and modern dishes. Our cooking style and philosophy embraces seasonality, locality and freshness. We do also make an effort to use ingredients that you will be able to find back home

Pinerolo’s expansive outdoor traditional market has been held in downtown Pinerolo for over 1,000 years, so it is very much a part of everyday Italian life.  This colorful market offers a vast array of fruit, vegetables, cured meats, salami and luscious cheeses from the many producers dotted around the area. This market also offers all sorts of interesting non food items, but is not a tourist market. Non market day sessions are possible on other days.

We will guide you through the selection, preparation, cooking and ultimately dine together, enjoying the fruits of our labor paired with an upgrade of  local “Strada Reale dei Vini Torinesi” wine.

Our intimate cooking sessions accommodate from 2 to 8 people.

Larger groups may be arranged also.

All cooking sessions are:

* hands on
* start late afternoon
* approximately 3-4 hours
* include recipes
* meal of our labor
* upgrade of local wine

Wine pairing may also be added to a course also

All sessions are taught by both Marla and Fabrizio.

Class size is usually between 2-8 people.

“Cooking Together” Cookery Sessions

We cook what is in season locally and balance a variety of interests in our custom classes.

    “Market to Table”

This custom cooking class is offered on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

The class includes:

  • an escorted morning tour through our large Pinerolo market selecting what’s best on offer and a mosey around the historical town center.
  • Free time for  lunch and siesta, before returning to our completely “hands on” late afternoon class.
  • We prepare a 2-3 course meal an dine together on the fruits of our labor.
  • We pair our meal with wine from our local “Strada Reale dei Vini Torinese” wine.

“Cooking Together” cookery classes are offered on various days by arrangement and customized to your interest.

Our most popular classes have been based on

the primi piatti which includes the  pasta, gnocchi, savory rustic tarts, risotto and on occasion polenta

the secondi piatti, which is usually the meat or main course.

Other possibilities are antipasti, dolce and focaccia

We are happy to offer a vegetarian option as well.

We choose 2 main items from the main categories  to focus on.

It is possible to arrange 1-5 nights of  ”Cooking Together”  if you are interested in multiple classes.

We have a wood fired oven that we will use for a pizza night  that requires at least a two day notice as we make a long rise pizza dough for the best flavor.
